BOOM Esports & Reality Rift will be Indonesia’s representative for this tournament.
In case you forgot, ONE Esports organized one of the biggest none-DPC tournaments of 2019. It featured a prize pool of over $500K and it was an absolute blast to watch. Following the success, the tournament organized decided to host a similar event but this time in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The event had been set to take place between April and May this year. However, due to the situation with the coronavirus, ONE Esports decided to postpone it for November. Of course, this didn’t stop the online qualifiers for the event, so we were able to watch the SEA region this weekend.

Even though there were a couple of notable teams in these qualifiers, BOOM Esports definitely stood out. They had a fantastic run in the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota Minor a few days ago, where they’ve finished fourth. As a result, they came “on fire” for these quals, and ended with no losses. Now, they will be heading out to Jakarta to defend the pride of their country.
Reality Rift wins the Malaysia Regional Qualifier
The second team which will be trying its luck in Jakarta is Reality Rift. They’ve recently gone “viral” after a very dominant performance in the qualifiers for DreamLuague Season 13. Despite the fact that they couldn’t do much there, they’ve still played fairly decent.
Now, the Singaporean team will go to this event in hopes of great success. However, we are yet to see if they will leave their mark on the big stage.
The future of the event
Even though some people say that things will get better, the coronavirus situation keeps getting worse, especially in some countries. As we’ve mentioned in the beginning, this tournament is postponed until November. However, there is still a lot of time left until then, so it might be moved once again.
The problem is that if the situation doesn’t change, ONE Esports Jakarta Invitational will be aligning with the first Major of the 2020-2021 DPC. Hopefully, this will change because we won’t be able to see many of the best teams.
