A few days ago, Riot Games released the official schedule for the upcoming MSI 2022 Group Stage matches. We went over the best matches that will be played throughout the first three days of the event. As the tournament gets closer and closer, let’s go over some of the other matches that will be very exciting to watch. In this second phase of the group stage, each group will play all their possible matchups in 1 day. We’ll avoid going over the same matchups that we already talked about in our last piece. Let’s get to it!

Day Four (Friday, May 13)

Brazil versus Turkey. These two regions have never been able to show up on the international stage against the major region teams except for a few exceptions. Turkish teams like SuperMassive Esports and Fenerbahçe Esports were considered one of the strongest teams coming from minor regions at one point but were never able to take down the biggest teams.

On the other hand, Brazilian teams have a couple of memorable moments on the international stage. We all remember that time when KaBuM! e-Sports took down Europe’s strongest team Alliance back in Worlds 2014. Although they didn’t advance into the playoffs stage, the Brazilian fans will always appreciate Kabum’s efforts.

Day Five (Saturday, May 14)

Teams in Group C will have to play each matchup twice due to there being only 3 teams in the group. And the matchup to keep an eye on will be NA vs OCE. In case some of you don’t remember, North America’s Cloud9 was the only team to give Oceania’s Pentanet.GG a victory in last year’s MSI.

Pentanet’s top laner was the 23-year-old player Brandon “Biopanther” Alexander. Now Brandon will try to take down North America once again, now on a different roster. Even if ORDER comes into this year’s MSI as the weakest team in the competition, it’s still going to be very exciting for OCE fans to watch his match-up.

Day Six (Sunday, May 15)

Team Aze vs. Saigon BuffaloDetonatioN FocusMe vs. T1DetonatioN FocusMe vs. Saigon BuffaloTeam Aze vs. T1DetonatioN FocusMe vs. Team AzeSaigon Buffalo vs. T1

Japan vs LATAM is a matchup that will bring a lot of excitement to many Latin American fans. Over the last few years, LATAM fans haven’t been too happy because their representatives can’t perform at all on the international stage. On the other hand, DFM managed to get out of the play-ins quite convincingly, while Infinity didn’t score a single win in the entire event.

If Team Aze defeats DetonatioN FocusMe, it will be a sign of hope for all the LATAM fans. On the flip side, if Team Aze fails to get out of groups, the LATAM curse will keep its reign of terror over the region.
